Clerk’s Report to Sticklepath Parish Council December 2023

I have forwarded lots of emails to the councillors, and read others which proved to not be of interest to Sticklepath.
I have submitted the agreed responses to the planning applications.
I have thanked Alan Wright for supplying a Remembrance Day wreath. He will need to record our contribution as a purchase of the wreath with a £5 additional donation.
A member of the public has pointed out an error in the last minutes which has been corrected as they are still draft!
I have requested a copy of the new electoral register.
Cllr Bell has supplied the invoice for the new Playing Field Sign which was authorised in May for up to £100. Without VAT it was £87.84, with VAT £105.41. This will be included in the next batch of payments.
West Devon Borough Council have a website page for reporting dumped cars, but you need to know the owner of the land that it is on. I will be making further enquiries.

The Fire Service consultation was not publicised as there was not a majority of councillors supporting publication.

For information only, the telecoms mast just outside our parish on Willey Lane at Willey Farm has been approved. It is a replacement of the existing one and will be 3m higher, with new cabinets on a new concrete pad. 3339/23/PAT

I have heard from West Devon Borough Council, that they will be recharging us costs for the uncontested election last May. The total will be £69.86 for ”various tasks relating to each election area e.g. preparing and taking nomination papers, preparing and sending official notices, writing to candidates etc, and differs for each area dependent on the number of candidates who came forward. The cost of the nomination papers is the material cost and is multiplied by the number of seats your council has plus a couple extra.” This cost will not be invoiced until next April, so we will be including it in our 2024/25 budget.
