Parish Council
Cllr Sales reported that there had been a complaint that anybody sitting in the bus stop could not stop the bus, because it was a request stop, not a compulsory stop. It was agreed to make a request to Stagecoach. Action: Cllr Loram.
I spoke with Stagecoach and a very helpful adviser. I explained I was calling as a Parish Councillor and that we had been approached by a member of the Parish about the bus not stopping if they were sitting in the Bus Shelter. I confirmed that it could happen if travelling either East or West Bound on the 6A if sitting at the Devonshire Inn Stop/s.
The adviser confirmed that it is not a “timed stop” (compulsory stop) as we discussed at the meeting. I said that the issue could be a member of the community who has mobility/disability issues she was very understanding and it going to log it with the Station. She also explained that they have a number of new drivers and some more experienced drivers are likely to stop even if there is no one stood outside of the Bus stop.
She asked me to let my fellow Councillors know that she will report back to me as soon as she has further information.
