I have published the following pages/posts:
I read these articles on rural housing which may be of interest https://rsnonline.org.uk/spotlight-on-rural-housing-march-2024 and https://rsnonline.org.uk/rural-affordable-housing-understanding-rural-needs
Sticklepath Parish Council usually distributes its grants to local organisations in January each year, apart from Royal British Legion which is paid near Remembrance Sunday. Last year we spent £200 out of a budget of £290. This year we have a budget of £275.
The Council insurance is currently renewing for the last year of a 3-year Long Term Agreement, so the only increase will be an inflationary rise for the Pavilion of £8.37. I have checked that the amounts in the Asset Register, agreed last month, match the amounts in the schedule. The only item not in the Asset Register is the Safety Surface which is insured for £1,200.
Bouncy Castle Liability for events: If the Parish Council organises an event whereby, they are using a bouncy castle and supervising themselves, additional liability will be needed. The premium to cover this is £49.00 (inc IPT). I think somebody said last year the Council usually got a bouncy castle with supervision, but I thought I’d better remind everybody.
I have not made any amendments to the code of conduct which was approved last year. It is however important that all councillors read the document to remind themselves of their responsibilities.
