The bad weather we have been experiencing for weeks now has taken its toll on the road infrastructure in the village and surrounding area.
There is an ongoing situation in Back Lane referring to the failure of the sewage system a few backs. I will continue to be in regular contact with the resident who initially made the query to see if there is any progress.
The area on the bend on Willey Lane is again flooded and the road surface continues to deteriorate. I have mentioned this again to Highways.
Flooding at the bridge end of Willey Lane – I have noted this and I have informed Highways of this problem.
The TPO on the way to Whiddon Down is up and to reassure everyone I have contacted Highways to establish progress. The road infrastructure does not contain any drainage; I am told that this is not uncommon if the road is ‘flat’. The overall plan is to install some grips in the road and to improve the gully system in the area to encourage water to pool everywhere except on the road. I will update you on this when I receive more information.
The cracks by Higher Combeshead house continue to grow – I have informed Highways that the weather is not helping the integrity of the road surface in this area and that they need to keep a very close eye on the deterioration.
Holes are reappearing on Sticklepath Hill near Holmans – this area takes a battering during rainy periods because water washes off the above fields – I have informed Highways about this.
Highways are aware of the scores of potholes in our village and surrounding area. They are doing their best to fix them.
