Okehampton Roadworks
Okehampton Roadworks 15th September – 13th October 2025
As you will have noticed there are currently traffic lights on the Exeter Road into Okehampton due to roadworks. However, from 15th September Exeter Road will be closed completely between Limehayes Road and Balmoral Crescent. This is due to Wales and West Utilities replacement of all gas pipes in Okehampton, replacing metal pipes with long lasting plastic pipes.
Diversion
The signposted diversion will be via the A30 all the way round to Sourton and back in to Okehampton past Betty Cottles. A long way round! The map appears to show no access at the southern end of Limehayes Road.
Following Road Closures and roadworks will be required on East Street / Far View Road/ Victoria Street/Wonnacotts Road/ Barton Road/ Lopes Crescent.

How did this ever get past,what about emergency services ,and school buses ,and normal buses , how much is this going to cost the normal person who struggling already,with the extra cost of fuel it’s not a small diversion
