Parish Council

Details from Devon County Council about the forthcoming drainage works in Sticklepath. These works will be done in two phases.
Due to the nature of the works firstly the use of temporary speed restrictions and temporary traffic lights are required and secondly a road closure with a fully signed diversionary route for traffic and advance signs will also be placed on the Highway.
Devon County Council apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused, including construction noise. They will endeavour to keep all disruption to a minimum. The planned on-site working hours will be Monday 5th June until Friday 30th June.
The planned programme for the delivery of the work is:
Drainage works in various sections from Tongue End Cross to Ford Cross. This section will be done under temporary traffic lights with related lowered speed restrictions in place.
The road will be closed from Sticklepath Bridge to Ford Cross with a diversion via the A30 in place. This is to allow more drainage works to be undertaken.
Please see the map below showing the affected area for works which are highlighted in orange.
Sticklepath Parish Council are currently requesting more information about how the closure will affect access to South Zeal and bus services. We will update you as soon as we know.

I am extremely concerned about how I am going to get to work and back during this time I work with vulnerable people so it is imperative I get to Exeter each day and back.

We have emailed Devon County Council asking for further clarification about bus services, and access across the bridge. They have said they will check and get back to us. We will let you know as soon as we hear anything.

Thank you. I live in Ramsley and have no way of getting to Okehampton early to meet bus. Taxis way too expensive!
